Not all estates must go through the court probate process. We will advise you if you qualify for small estate administration, which is much less expensive and time-consuming. To schedule a probate consultation, please contact us at (317) 417-8638 or you can book online here.
If you are named as the executor by the terms of a will or you would like to become the administrator of the estate of a family member who did not have a will, we can help you to become appointed as a personal representative or administrator by the probate court.
In most cases, a family member serves as the personal representative of a family member’s probate estate. The probate process includes gathering the deceased’s assets, inventorying them, paying the expenses of the deceased’s last illness and burial, paying creditor claims, distributing the remaining estate assets to the beneficiaries, preparing an accounting, and closing the probate case.
To review the status of a probate case online, you can search non-confidential cases in Indiana Courts online at mycase.IN.gov. Click the Case tab to search by case number, the Name tab to search by party name, or the Attorney tab to search by attorney.
